General Meeting Minutes Next Chapter Meeting – 5/03/06
April 5, 2006

Attending: John Hequemborg, Pat Schaefer, John McGrath, Scott Dressel, Susan Hart, Matt Trachsel, Bill Oswald, Ruth Brent Tofle, Larry Brandhorst, Jim Cooley, Bob Cunningham, Tina Brown, Gary Caspill, Mark Schultz, BobSaumur (NCR President) and Laura Lesniewski, (speaker).
1. John McGrath reported chapters account balances as of 4/6/06.
a. Checking $4,415.51 b. Savings $18,443.04
Renewed CD for 8 months @ 4.65% interest
2. There was no March Board meeting.
3. Awards Committee reported 4 scholarship applications in.
4. Bylaws and Technical Committees had nothing new to report.
5. 50th CSI National Convention in Las Vegas was attended by Scott Dressel. Bob Saumur, North Central Region president commented on great attendance because of Vegas location. Upcoming joint meeting with Construction Spec Canada in Winnipeg. Procedure for regional meeting site appointment was addressed as alphabetical unless special anniversary date for a certain region.
6. Certification Committee reported that 2 members(Jason Gerling and Susan Hart) took CDT exam on March 25th . Results will not be available for several weeks.
7. Program Committee and Technical Committee reminded membership of April 12th program on Implementation of new Master Format cosponsored by CSI and AIA. Dennis Haug scheduled as speaker at UMC General Services Training Center with capacity of 100.
8. Golf Tournament Committee has scheduled meeting at Triple B Doors on March 13th. Door prizes are a major concern as each year the quantity dwindles.
9. Membership reminded to read updates on the CSI webpage. Submit any new information to Electronic Communications Committee (Amanda at Bob Cunningham’s office.
10. 2006-07 officer nomination schedule will be e-mailed this month to board members by John Hequembourg
11. Membership Committee reported several new applications out.
12. Winner of drawing for free breakfast at April meeting was Matt Trachsel.
13. Speakers: Laura Lesniewski (BNIM Architects) presented program on LEED certification.
