CSI BREAKFAST MEETING MINUTES
December 4, 2002

  1. Scott Dressel called the Regular Meeting of the Central Missouri Chapter to Order at 7:45AM.
  2. Those in attendance are as follows:

  1. The meeting minutes from the November 6, 2002 minutes were distributed, reviewed and approved as submitted.
  2. Bob Drainer presented the treasures report for October 2002.
    Beginning Balance $ 2,933.51
    Total Deposits $ 545.00
    Total Checks $ 764.50
    CD $ 6,000.00
    Ending Balance $ 8,714.01
    The Treasurer's Report was approved.

  1. Committee Reports
    1. Jerry Thompson reported on the membership committee. We currently have a total of 62 members with 53 members who pay dues to our chapter. Jerry reported that the new members are Ruth Tofle, Don Connors and Ross Henson. Our chapters retention rate is 91.5%.
    2. Scott passed out the Programs Schedule for the coming year, which has been finalized with the exception of some speakers. This is also located on the chapter Website.
    3. No formal Report was presented for the Bylaws Committee.
    4. No formal Report was presented for the Newsletter Committee.
    5. Scott Dressel reported that John McGrath and he are working on nominations for a Regional award. These names will be kept top secret.
    6. No Formal Report was presented for the Certification Committee. The Certification Exam has been scheduled for April 6, 2002 at the chapter level.
    7. No formal Report was presented for the Technical Committee (Website).
    8. There was no report for the Golf Tournament. Jim Cooley reported on the Product Show to be held at the Columbia Country Club on November 12, 2002 from 4:30 to 7:30. There will be 14 vendors at this show. We had a total of 52 people attend. This was a big success. The next mini Product Show will be held in March 2003 in Jefferson City. More information to follow later.
    9. Brice reported that he has been getting information about the upcoming National Convention to be held in April in Chicago.
  1. Old Business
    1. Scott is still working on and finalizing our Chapter's Strategic Plan with the main goal and emphasis on membership and Programs.
    2. General discussion followed about updating the Bylaws.
  1. New Business
    1. Jerry Thompson reported that the new Daniel Boone Regional Library in Columbia has donated space in the Library for CSI to stock with Construction & Technical reference materials. We will have 4 bookshelves to stock. General discussion followed as to how we should stock them and with what types of materials. John Murray proposed that we consider in our budget up to $2,000 for this endeavor. There are a lot of materials that we could get donated. Scott appointed a task force consisting to Jerry Thompson, Bob Drainer and John Murray to follow up on this project and report back to the Board.
    2. There is a possibility that in March 2003 that we will combine the mini Product Show with the annual Member Awareness program. Greg and Jim will work on this.
  1. Calendar of Events
    • Because of the upcoming holiday season, there we not be a board meeting in December.
    • January 8, 2003, CSI Regular Breakfast meeting at Eagle Knoll Golf Course.
    • January 28, 2003 is the next Board Meeting in Jefferson City
    • March 2003 is the next Mini Product Show in Jefferson City
    • April 2003 is the CSI National Construct America in Chicago.

  1. John Mathis was the winner of the drawing for the free breakfast at the next meeting. Congratulations Brad, we will see you at the next meeting to collect on the free breakfast.
