CENTRAL MISSOURI CHAPTER
MINUTES OF MEETING
BOARD MEETING

DATE OF MEETING: March 31, 2004

Attending: Jim Cooley (JC),, John McGrath (JM), John Hequembourg (JH), Greg Wack (GW), Bob Drainer (BD), Scott Dressel (SD), Bob Cunningham (BC) and Jerry Thompson (JT) (writer)

Meeting called to order: 5:00 P.M.

February minutes of meeting were reviewed and approved without change (Motion by GW, Second by JH).

Treasurer’s Report was reviewed and approved. The current balance is $3,796.00. The board voted to approve the Treasurer’s Report with a motion by BM and second by JH.

Membership Committee: No report.

Program Committee: SD reported that the April program is “Thermal Performance of Concrete Masonry” by Darryl Winegar of Midwest Block and Brick. He distributed a new list of programs for the next few months. CSI and AIA are planning a joint program on the Life Safety Code for June and it is still being planned to keep the cost down as much as possible.

Bylaws Committee: SD distributed the proposed revisions to the bylaws, but they will have to be approved by the institute secretary prior to our local chapter voting to approve them. The change “and local chapter” to bylaws article 3.1 is yet to be made but will be revised prior to sending to the institute secretary. The revised bylaws should be presented to the general membership for approval at the May CSI meeting.

Electronics Communications: BC reported that the web site will be updated next Thursday and that the scholarship page will be updated in May.

Certifications Committee: JH reported that one person has indicated that he may register for certifications testing next year.

Product Show: No report.

Golf Tournament: GW reported that the tournament will be July 26 and is confirmed at the Columbia Country Club with the lunch buffet upstairs in the club. He distributed entry forms and sponsorship forms. His committee met last week and will meet again April 23 at Triple B doors. The tournament still needs sponsors, door prizes (ie, $100 savings bonds, tee shirts, golf balls, bottles of wine or liquor), donations, volunteers, and teams.

Technical Committee: JT reported that there has been no new information about the library collection.

North Central Region: No report. BM will represent the Central Missouri chapter at the national CSI convention.

Old Business:
The secretary position nominee has not been determined. JT announced that he will not be serving on the board next year because of an increased commitment as president of the AIA Mid-Missouri component next year. The election of officers is scheduled for the April 7 general meeting.

New Business:
SD commended Amanda Booloodian of Cunningham + Associates for her good work in keeping the web site updated. He also encouraged members to add any pertinent announcements or information to the web site by contacting Amanda.

Calendar: June 23: Year-end board meeting / planning meeting at the Columbia Country Club.

Meeting adjourned: 5:30 P.M.
