Minutes of the November 2003 Regular Meeting

  1. President Jim Cooley called the meeting to order...IT WAS VERY DARK!

  2. Review and approval of last month’s meeting minutes

  3. Treasurer’s report by John McGrath: Presented and approved.
    Summary of report:

  4. Committee Reports
    1. Membership—No Report
    2. Programs/Education-Updated program discussed
    3. By-laws- Scott Dressel reported that the bylaws have been edited and have been sent to National for review and approval.
    4. Electronic Communications Committee: Membership noted that the program schedule has not been updated on the website. Members were notified that email updates for the website should be sent to Bob Cunningham.
    5. Awards Committee- Bob Teller, Institute Director to NCR made a special presentation to Bob Drainer recognizing his excellent commitment and support to CSI Central Chapter for 9 years.
    6. Certification- John Hequembourg presented a short program on CSI certification. Reminded members that you do not have to be a member of CSI to take the test, therefore look for people in your company that would be good candidates. If people sign up for test, John will organize and host a study class.
    7. Products Show- No report
    8. Golf Tournament Committee- No report
    9. Technical Committee-Jerry Thompson reported that the library rejected the computer/monitor that had been donated by CSI. The library then gave him specifications on a computer/monitor that they would accept. Membership asked Jerry Thompson to obtain 2 proposals so that a decision could be made by December 31st.
    10. NCR Director Report-Brice Moeller reported that the St. Louis CSI chapter will be hosting a products show on November 13th. Urged our membership to attend.

  6. New Business:
    - Andy Bonderer presented Linn Technical Scholarship recipient Ms. Eikhoff.
    Andy reported that Linn Technical held a foundation recognition dinner and presented CSI with a certificate of appreciation.
    Tonya Price, representing Linn Technical, stated their appreciation of CSI’s support to the scholarship program.
