CSI BREAKFAST MEETING MINUTES
October 2, 2002

  1. Scott Dressel called the Regular Meeting of the Central Missouri Chapter to Order at 7:40 AM.
  2. Those in attendance are as follows:

  1. The meeting minutes from the October 2, 2002 minutes were distributed, reviewed and approved as submitted.
  2. Bob Drainer presented the treasures report for October 2002.
    Beginning Balance $ 7,508.88
    Total Deposits $ 150.00
    Total Checks $ 4,725.37
    CD $ 6,000.00
    Ending Balance $ 8,933.51
    The Treasurer's Report was approved.

  1. Committee Reports
    1. Jerry Thompson reported on the membership committee. We currently have 59 members of whom there were 7 who were either new members or had renewed their membership. Jerry also handed out CSI Membership Brochures to those attending and reviewed his goal to endeavor to get more Facility Representatives evolved with our chapter.
    2. Brad Copeland reported that the Programs Schedule for the coming year has been finalized with the exception of some speakers. A copy of the program schedule was passed out. This is also located on the chapter Website. As in the past there may be some adjustments to the program depending on speaker availability.
    3. No formal Report was presented for the Bylaws Committee.
    4. Susan Hart reported that because our chapter now has its own Website that a formal Newsletter will not be sent out. She will be providing articles to Willie Sandin who will make sure it is on the Website. If anyone has anything of interest they are to get the information to Susan who will coordinate placement on our Website with Willie.
    5. Scott Dressel reported that John McGrath and he have submitted 3 of our members to the R egion as nominations for an award. These names will be kept top secret.
    6. John Murray reported that the applications for the Certification are now available. Anyone interested should contact John. The Certification Exam has been scheduled for April 6, 2002 at the chapter level. John is planning on doing workshops for the exams depending on the number of applicants. John's goal is to get 50% of our Chapter's members certified. John also reminded everyone of the early bird discount of $50.00 if a exam candidate enrolls prior to December 1, 2002.
    7. Scott Dressel reported that our Chapter Website address is www.csicentralmo.org. Because of Willie's current workload, he was unable to meet the update deadline in October.. If anyone wants something posted on our Website they can e-mail Willie at mw-engrs@socket.net and he will see that it get posted. Willie must receive all Website changes and updates by the third Monday of each month.
    8. There was no report for the Golf Tournament. Greg Wack reported on the Product Show to be held at the Columbia Country Club on November 12, 2002 from 4:30 to 7:30. There will be 12 vendors at this show. Greg read the list of vendors. Greg will also be sending out reminders of the product show along with the names of the Vendors and what they will be showing.
  1. Old Business
    1. During this year, Scott wants to work on and finalize our Chapter's Strategic Plan with the main goal and emphasis on membership and Programs.
    2. Brief discussion about the mini product show in November.

    A. No new business items were presented.

  1. Calendar of Events
  • November 12, 2002 will be the Mini Product Show to be held in Columbia.
  • November 26, 2002 will be the next CSI Board Meeting in Columbia.
  • December 4, 2002 will be the next regular CSI Breakfast meeting at Eagle Knoll.

  1. Brad Copeland was the winner of the drawing for the free breakfast at the next meeting. Congratulations Brad, we will see you at the next meeting to collect on the free breakfast.
