Minutes of the September 2003 Regular Meeting

  1. President Jim Cooley called the meeting to order

  2. Attendance:

  3. Treasurer’s report by John McGrath: Presented and approved.
    Summary of report:
    Beginning Balance $ 8921.07
    Checks $(200) Monthly meeting-Eagle Knoll
    Deposits $ 225 Membership dues
    Deposits $ 140 Monthly breakfast
    Deposits $ 5213.54 Golf Tournament proceeds from NAWIC
    Ending balance $ 14299.61
    Reported that CSI will be moving $10,000 of this balance to a separate account set
    aside for scholarships.

  4. Committee Reports
    1. Membership- No report-Jim Cooley mentioned need to increase subcontractor representation in our membership
    2. Programs/Education-Scott Dressel presented updated program schedule
    3. By-laws- No report.
    4. Electronic Communications Committee: Scott Dressel reported that our deadline for updating the website is the 3rd Wednesday of the month. Bob Cunningham will be taking over this responsibility in September.
    5. Awards Committee- No report
    6. Certification- John Hequembourg reported that he will send a letter in October soliciting members to take certification tests. Based on membership interest, he will schedule review classes.
    7. Products Show- Membership decided to support one show in the Spring of 2004. Preliminary idea is to combine with a seminar offering CEU credits. Discussion continued regarding advertising to a broader base of individuals and to include the residential contractors.
    8. Golf Tournament Committee- Greg Wack reported that we had a successful tournament this year! Our 50% of the net proceeds was $5213.54. Success contributed to cutting golf course costs, increased sponsorships, increased sales of mulligans and the new raffle.
    9. Technical Committee-Jerry Thompson strongly urged members to donate technical reference materials to the library. Scott Dressel donated a computer for the library and Jim Cooley donated a monitor. Jerry Thompson will coordinate the installation of the computer at the library.

  5. Old Business: Scott Dressel congratulated Jim Morris, AIA, for a successful
    Joint program in July.

  6. New Business: None
